Peter is a medical doctor and has been practicing in Vancouver, Washington since 1994. He was trained in medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biological Sciences at SUNY Buffalo and he graduated in 1991. Subsequently he was trained as a pediatrician through the University of Michigan Pediatrics Residency Program which he completed in 1994. For six years, Peter practiced as a primary care pediatrician and then he pursued training in medical acupuncture in 1999. He is board certified in both General Pediatrics and Medical Acupuncture. Peter then successfully completed the Diet and Lifestyle Intervention Program through the Wellness Forum Institute in 2015.
Peter and his wife, Lisa, opened Points of Origin, PLLC to provide acupuncture and holistic health care to the Portland/Vancouver community in the year 2000. His interest in obtaining better health outcomes led him to form an association with Wellness Forum Health, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio and founded by Pam Popper, N.D., Ph.D. Peter believes that patients are empowered by information when it comes from reliable sources and this can be truly transformative for many people once they realize that significant changes are attainable for themselves and their family members.
Description of practice:
In addition to being licensed to offer all Wellness Forum Health programs, Peter offers a concierge health consulting service that includes one on one visits as well as ongoing access and communication. As a pediatrician he is particularly interested in helping parents gain access to accurate medical information (which is rarely available in a doctor’s office) so they can confidently address the health needs of their children.
Workshops on a variety of health-related topics are offered regularly through the practice. Free resources include monthly dinners during which participants engage in an interactive discussion about health and medicine; and they are able to receive periodic newsletters and have access to videos, articles and other formats via the membership website.
Peter is available to deliver talks and facilitate discussions about nutrition and informed medical decision making to groups.
