Setting Up Your Calendar

You should plan your calendar in two-month cycles. Plan to complete your calendar by the 15th of the month prior to the beginning of the next cycle. Send notices to newspapers, online calendars, and other media about events that are open to the public.

Some guidelines:

  • Schedule at least one information dinner per month, preferably on weeknights Mon-Thurs. Friday night and weekends are not good times for these events. Change the day of the week regularly, so that people with permanent weeknight commitments can eventually attend.
  • Schedule at least one How to Get Started session each month. These are best held on Saturday from 9AM-1:00PM.
  • Add additional events, like cooking classes as your business grows; don’t try to do too many things before you have a big enough membership base to support your local activities.
  • You can include Weds workshops posted on the members’ site, national conferences, and other events presented by Wellness Forum Health corporate on your calendar too.
